For moms like me, our children are the most precious gift God has given us. They are our joy, our source of strength and our inspiration to pursue more and achieve our goals.
I got married in December 2004 and a month after, I learned I was pregnant. Much to our surprise, I am having twins! A few months after and I gave birth to them at 30 weeks. Pre-term delivery, probably because I am a petite lady and my body can no longer stretch much??? (I really don't know). I gave birth to 2 little darling angels on the 4th of July year 2005.
1 month oldThe first few months were a struggle for me, for I have to wake up almost every hour at night just so that I can give their milk on a 2-hour interval since they can only tolerate 2ml when we took them home (they stayed in the hospital for a month). Watching them grow little by little is like an achievement for us. From the tiny 3.3lbs growing up to 2.5kgs to 4kgs and now, 18kgs and 16kgs - it was really a success for me. You can never tell now that my kids were premature babies.
7 months oldThey are well-loved, taken cared of (sometimes, even over than usual). Their newborn state made me thought that I have to give them extra care and that they should be protected from anything that could cause harm to them. I became an overprotective mom, all loving and as much as possible - understanding. As much as possible?
11 months oldWell, let me clear - I am understanding but my kids are really irking me to the highest level when they are quarreling. As far as I am concerned, I taught them the rules of sharing, of loving each other, of giving and almost all the things I know they should learn. But then, kids still have things to argue about. The tiniest move that the other will create could irritate the other. The toy that the other one wants to have is being handled by the other and she wouldn't want to lend it to her sister. And to top the list, they quarrel over mommy! And yes, it feels like I just want to vanish from their site for a moment so that I can elude the sound of their soprano like voices banging around the house.
now 3 years oldAnd what do I do when the kids quarrel? If I can still retain my composure, here are the things I do:
- Talk to them and let them know that fighting is a bad thing (while they still can't talk back!) and that mom and dad doesn't want them fighting.
- Tell each other to apologize and be sincere when saying "Sorry"
- When fighting over a toy, I get the toy from them and let them realize that until they learn how to share, they can't have it again.
- And when fighting over me, I get their dad - share your blessings! (lol)
Being a mom is really a tough job. Nurturing your kids isn't just a thing to do - it is a lifetime task, to continually teach them about life and all the things around them. And us moms, are just a wonderful gift to them just as they were to us.
I just can't help but make some scraps out of the pictures taken during our visit to the Ark Avilon Zoo. Not sure if it will be appreciated by other scrappers but - please let me know your thoughts so I can improve.

This scrap is a combination of Harvest Spice, Sun Porch and Spontaneous Delight - all from Shabby Princess. I haven't bought any scrapping kit yet. I still have one I like but unfortunately, I can't go back to buy because I've been very busy recently not just because of the holidays but also because of the recent events I have handled and attended.

How do couples celebrate their wedding anniversary? Most of what I have observed - going out to dinner together, watching a movie, an overseas trip or a cruise probably (whoa!). Well, hubby and I celebrated it with the kids! And the day was just as special as our wedding day.
It was our 4th wedding anniversary last December 18. It was supposedly not a day off from work but due to Elysia having abdominal pains and diarrhea, we went to see her pediatrician. After she was given medication, we headed to Tiendesitas and had lunch at the Buma Seafood Restaurant. It was similar to Dampa (minus the cooking charge) but with relatively few sea foods in their market. Lunch was great and hubby enjoyed his crab.
We then headed to the Ark Avilon Zoo and the kids really enjoyed their stay there. See some of their moments here.Here, they enjoyed feeding the carps. And the fishes really enjoyed their meal. It looks like they were swarming here for food. Yum yum. My daughters requested for a second round and hubby gave in so he can take a few more shots while the kids are busy.
Still eager to meet real-life animals, the kids headed to the farm area to see the rabbits and actually barge into the feeding station so they can feed the animals themselves. Look here. Scieszka was simply letting the rabbits and the guinea pigs eat the carrots but Elysia, showing her compassionate side, went all the way to the rabbits resting in the corners and fed them. She felt as if the smaller rabbits can't actually fight for their bite so she went ahead and gave them some.
It was really tiring to constantly follow them the whole day. They keep on running and exploring the area. Smart kids, I must say. Of course, they are my kids! haha!Then it was time to feed the hungry sheeps. They were actually crying. Yes, they were really really hungry that time. The caretaker though is sensitive enough to notice it (well, he should be).

Behind us is a wishing well, and yes, they even asked for coins to throw in. I am looking at this picture and I remember the day I discovered I was pregnant and now, here they are - sitting beside me, giving me joy and headache at the same time. But it was well worth it! Parenting is really a tough job.With us is my sis-in-law (my bro's wife). She takes care of the kids while we are at the office =)
Oh and finally, our family picture. We almost forgot. Hubby is our official photographer so he's not always in the picture. We were able to have one. The kids are already exhausted though and Elysia is throwing her tantrums already so this is the best shot we got.
So there, 4th anniversary celebration with the kids. A bit more special for us for we were able to spend the day with our precious little angels.
It is once again the season to be jolly because it's Christmas time. Time to share joy, laughter, happiness, reunions and gift giving! My, I've been wondering what to give the kids for Christmas. Will it be toys, clothes, or shoes?
Having a hard time thinking what to give your baby, babies, nephews, nieces, here are a few tips for all of you who have babies, tots on their Christmas list:
For babies, must haves are as follows: strollers, baby carriers, car seats, or a nice walker. Prices will vary though depending on the brand but it is up to you what to give. It is your gift anyway and the parents are most likely to be thankful for receiving such wonderful presents for their babies. When scouting for gift items, consider asking the different stores and go to the one with the best price. Stores vary their pricing to accommodate their customers and beat the competitors.
For toddlers, clothes and educational items are in demand. From 2 years old, kids starts to grow rapidly that you would normally notice their clothes are no longer fit to them. Christmas may be one of the best time to give the tots some nice new clothes! Educational items are also good to give for tots since they are already in the process of learning.
Since this is the season for gift buying, most malls get on sale to attract more customers. And moms, if you hate going to mall to shop, there is always the internet where you can shop online and have the items shipped to you. A bit expensive though but less stress =)
Thanks to the new camera i can now scrap again. There are a lot of pictures to choose from and I've chosen the ones below. The scraps are so simple, pardon me - I don't have much of scrapping experience yet. Please let me know on the areas I need to improve. Your comments are appreciated.
First is my daughter, Scieszka Raine. She loves to pose whenever she sees the camera. Such an adorable child. She cares about her sister a lot.

Isabella Lorusso.
This is the name of the daughter of my former client, Eds and Pierpaolo Lorusso. Their daughter has been entered in the Cutest Baby in Britain Competion. I checked the site and it is still down so I can't vote for Isabella.
Even so, I'd like to share a picture of the couple and when I got the chance - with their cute little baby.

I really have to post this!
Hubby and I went out yesterday to grab our Canon EOS 1000D and yes, we're happy! We initially liked the 450D but it's too expensive for us right now. At least the one we got is already cool. We're really really satisfied. Plus, it comes with a Basic Photography session!
We've never been into photography before but this thing will really bring you into wanting to take more pictures and practice your skills. Hubby already enrolled to a photography club and will eventually attend the photography sessions to learn more about it. And definitely, I will be his number one supporter!

while writing this entry, i am not as disturbed as i usually was when i am blogging at thome. the reason? well, the kids are busy watching Disney's Little Einsteins.
they already had the Baby Einstein DVDs way back when they are still 3 months old. and it was just recently when we discovered that part of the DVD episodes are bonus materials and advertisements of the Little Einteins.
Little Einsteins is a creation from the Baby Einstein Company and Disney. It is an animated tv series on the Playhouse Disney. This is an educations pre-school series which was developed by Douglas Wood. It was designed to teach toddlers about demographic arts, music appreciation (yes, they used classical music here), and it has an integration to famous cultural artworks (they have paintings integrated and character integration). The best part of this series is it has viewer interaction. To fly Rocket (their rocketship), kids are encouraged to pat their legs to obtain more power. Sometimes, they are asked to sing, to a gesture and dance!

every night before going to sleep, my kids would usually ask us to sing for them...most song are from the nursery rhymes collection which they have already memorized (though medyo bulol yung ilang words).
last night, i was surprised 'coz the younger twin, ysha, sang..."look at me mom..." and as i thought she was just singing by herself, then she grabbed my face and told me to sing "shining like the sun"! gosh...what song is this again? then, i realized, yeah my kids are very exposed to television (kasi lagi sa bahay ng lola) and what ysha was singing was the nido commercial where sharon sings with her daughters frankie and miel...
good thing...since childhood i've been hearing this song and i've quite memorized some part of the lyrics...others hum na lang hahahah...my daughter and i sang our first duet together...and then the older twin approach and said..."si scieszka raine naman mommy"...so there...
i'm trying to get the lyrics so i can sing it correctly next time...will post is also once i'm able to find it.hahah...

i've downloaded this new kit from shabbyprincess and look what i've got. it's just unfortunate there is no single pic of my twins during this wedding where they are together...
the pictures were taking from iris' wedding last february. i can't take much picture lately because my old digicam seems to be broken already. i coordinated the event that is why i was very busy with the entire preparation and i wasn't able to take pictures of my daughters. plus, elysia fell asleep in the church and she was not in any picture during the ceremony...sheesh.
i'm checking my friends' site and most of them already use a DLSR. this is becoming really popular nowadays, huh! let's see if we'll be able to get one =)

the title says it all...yes, this is really fun. actually, i've created another scrap. the picture were taken way back when the kids are still 11 months old. this was the picture they used for their birthday party tarpaulin which was take by ninong abner of andre photography
